10 Activities off the Beaten Paths in Bruges

Bruges is a beautiful city. You surely have already seen pictures of its romantic canals and mediaval architecture. It is very popular and Bruges can be very crowdy sometimes. Just like for any other touristic places, it can be hard to find a quiet place to enjoy.

Bruges has plenty to offer. From cute streets to charming facades. Thats is why I share with you 10 places and things to discover in Bruges in all seasons. Ready ?

1. Discover the commercial street tourists never enter: Sint-Amandstraat or Zilverstraat (just besides Main Street).

2. Take a walk around the Canal from Jan Van Eyckplein to Potterierei and the other way around.

3. Discover the area around the Chruch of Jerusalem.

4. Enjoy a walking tour with your own guide.

5. Listen to the Bells of the Belfroy ringing from the Main Square or in the distance in a quieter street.

6. Walk around the Begijnhof and enjoy its silence and peacefulness.

7. Wander around the Minnewater and swear faithfulness to your significant other on the bridge by throwing a coin in the lake.

8. Enjoy the old cobbled streets and all the beautiful architecture Bruges has to offer.

9. Take a break on Rosenkai, one of the most photographed spots in the world. If you want to be alone there (or nearly), try dinner time (7-9pm, late evening, or – of course – early morning, it always works! During the Winter, you can also witness stunning sunsets from there.

10. Stop in a tea-room and have a hot Belgian chocolate with a waffel in the cold season, or enjoy a beer when the sun is out in the Spring or Summer!
